What's in the catalog
Public-domain recordings from LibriVox and the Internet Archive, read by volunteers. Every story is listened to by a person before it is added — not scraped and published automatically. New ones arrive each month, grouped into collections like Fairy & Folk Tales and Lullabies, Rhymes & Poems.
What the app never does
No ads. No analytics or tracking of any kind. No accounts to create and nothing to type. No social features, no sharing, and no links out of the app anywhere a child can reach. The only notification storyFT ever posts is the playback control on your lock screen — never a reminder, never a promotion.
The sleep timer
Four choices: end of story, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or off. Instead of cutting out, the audio fades away over the final stretch, and the screen settles into a still goodnight picture that dismisses with a tap. You can set which option every fresh launch starts on.
Offline listening
With Lifetime Pro you can keep stories on the device, so they play in the car, on a plane, or with the phone in airplane mode at bedtime. A downloaded story stays yours even if it later leaves the catalog.

The whole catalog streams free, forever, with or without paying — that never changes. Lifetime Pro is a single one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it unlocks offline downloads and use across your family's devices. There is also an optional tip, which unlocks nothing at all and exists only if you'd like to help.
The grown-ups area
Purchases, downloads and settings all sit behind a multiplication question a young child can't answer, and it asks again every time. In there you can limit stories to an age group, choose the sleep-timer default, and manage downloads.
