Terms of Use
The short version: use storyFT for your family as much as you like. The stories are public-domain recordings we curate, not works we own. Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase handled by your app store. We do our best, but we can't promise the app is perfect or always available.
1. Who these terms are with
storyFT is provided by LogicFT Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada. By installing or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please delete the app.
storyFT is designed for children but intended to be installed and set up by an adult. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms on your behalf.
2. Using storyFT
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you or your family control, for personal, non-commercial listening. Please don't reverse-engineer the app, resell it, or use it to build a competing catalogue. Playing storyFT publicly — in a nursery, a classroom, a waiting room — isn't covered by these terms; write to us and we'll almost certainly say yes.
3. Lifetime Pro and tips
The entire catalogue streams free, always. Lifetime Pro is a single one-time purchase — not a subscription, and nothing recurring is ever charged. It unlocks offline downloads and use across your family's devices, and it does not change what stories exist or what can be played.
The optional tip grants nothing whatsoever. It is a way to support the curation work, and buying one changes nothing about the app.
All payments are taken and held by Apple or Google under their own terms. Refunds are theirs to give, not ours, so refund requests go through the store you bought from. Prices are set per country by the store and can change; anything you have already bought stays bought.
4. The stories
The recordings come from LibriVox and the Internet Archive and are in the public domain, read by volunteers. We don't own them and we don't claim to. What we do is choose them, listen to them, group them, and make the cover art — that curation, the artwork, the storyFT name and the app itself remain ours.
The catalogue changes: stories are added each month, and occasionally one is removed — because a better recording of the same tale turns up, or because it no longer fits. A story you have already downloaded stays playable on your device even if it leaves the catalogue.
5. What we don't promise
storyFT is provided as it is. We can't promise it will be free of faults, that every story will always be available, or that streaming will work on every network — the audio is served by the Internet Archive, which we don't control. We may change or discontinue features, and we'll try to do that thoughtfully rather than abruptly.
To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the app — which for most people is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and if you bought through a store, that store's terms may give you rights these terms cannot reduce.
6. Changes and ending
If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top of this page and note material changes in the app's release notes. You can stop using storyFT at any time by deleting it. We may end your licence if the app is being misused as described in section 2.
7. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live elsewhere, the consumer-protection rights of your own country still apply to you.
Questions about these terms go to support@storyft.com.
