Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

storyFT is made and operated by LogicFT Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For anything in this policy you can reach a person at privacy@storyft.com.

2. Information we collect

None. We mean this literally rather than as a summary of a longer list:

• There is no account, no registration, no sign-in, and nowhere in the app for a child to type anything.
• We run no analytics and no crash reporting, and the app contains no advertising or attribution software of any kind.
• We do not ask the device for its advertising identifier, location, microphone, camera, contacts, or photos. The app requests no runtime permissions at all.

Using the app does mean making ordinary web requests: the story list and cover art come from our catalogue server, and the audio streams from the Internet Archive. Those servers see the request and the device's IP address, as any website would. The requests carry no identifier for you or your child, and we do not build profiles from our server logs.

3. Purchases

storyFT offers one optional purchase — Lifetime Pro — and an optional tip. Both live behind a gate intended to be passed only by an adult. The entire story catalogue can be listened to for free whether or not anything is ever bought.

Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your card details, billing address, or name. To check whether a purchase is valid we use RevenueCat, a purchase-processing service. It receives an anonymous identifier generated on the device and the store's purchase receipt. It is deliberately never given a name, an email address, or an advertising identifier, and we do not use its advertising-attribution features.

4. Children's privacy

storyFT is directed at children, and is built so that the question of children's data does not arise: we collect no personal information from anyone, so we collect none from children under 13 either. That is our position under the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and under the GDPR's rules on children's data.

There is no behavioural advertising, no profiling, no social or messaging feature, no user-generated content, and no way for a child to contact anyone through the app. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for which verifiable parental consent would be needed, and no child data for a parent to request or delete from us.

5. Data stored on your device

The app keeps a few small files in its own private storage on your device:

• Where you got to in each story, so it can pick up again, along with how many times a story has been played.
• Your settings — the age groups you have chosen to show, and the sleep-timer default.
• A cached copy of the story list and cover images.
• Any stories you have downloaded for offline listening.

None of this leaves the device. There is no cloud sync and no backup to us. Deleting the app removes all of it; individual downloads can be removed from the Downloads screen inside the grown-ups area.

6. Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Questions, or anything here that does not match what you observe the app doing, go to privacy@storyft.com — we would genuinely like to know.
